Wasting time. Maybe this is an unconscious attempt to avoid that awful feeling of too-much-pressure, but ignoring the too-much-to-do list only increases pressure."<br /><br />I too am a mom and grandma who has gone back to school. I combat my stress just as you do above. It seems so counter-intuitive - and yet it's what I do. The constant thrum in the back of my consciousness which doesn't stop all semester as class deadlines battle family obligation is not good for me. Next semester I'm scaling back to one class. Family trumps college. Perhaps I'll go back to self-directed education.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596826491172481628.post-92225354418105452982011-11-16T17:14:27.809-08:002011-11-16T17:14:27.809-08:00I'm living that way now. The important things remain undone day after day, whilst the urgent but unimportant things scream for attention every minute. This way makes me feel a scream inside too.<br />SandraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596826491172481628.post-68366136785717848132011-11-16T13:00:06.047-08:002011-11-16T13:00:06.047-08:00Thank you so much! I have that particular quote from St. Francis de Sales taped up on my bathroom door so I can see it when I walk down the hallway into the dining/school/living area. :) <br />Be like a child... It is supposed to be simple and sincere and yet many times it is so hard for us to slow down and be deliberate, at least for this schedule oriented mama.
