I ended up, I think, using the NT "recipe" but I set the container with the milk and cultures on a heating pad, covered with a thick towel (I had a thermometer inside the towel to gauge temp). I can't remember details now, and I didn't have it written down.

The thing about raw yogurt that has no thickeners or stabilizers in it, is that it can't be stirred or it becomes more of a thick liquid. It's different from what you buy in the store. I learned to spoon it out carefully, top it with whatever I wanted (or put it on top of whatever I wanted), and just eat it bite by bite without a bunch of mixing.

Ah, yes, colon cleanse. Have fun with that bit o research. :-)Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06469299112021260475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596826491172481628.post-31313609482674427982011-08-03T13:02:56.305-07:002011-08-03T13:02:56.305-07:00I would love to know how you made your raw yogurt!...I would love to know how you made your raw yogurt! I've only attempted it once, but the results weren't overly impressive....

ok ~ I'm intrigued w/ all the colon cleanse talk - I may need to have a look at this book ~ i know, I'm weird :-)the mommahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06442659609532682275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596826491172481628.post-25214240811234969452011-08-03T09:32:35.642-07:002011-08-03T09:32:35.642-07:00Funny, Winterwood! I love coconut! :-)

Mary Beth, I know what you mean about the colon cleansing stuff! Ew. I try not to think about it. :-) It just doesn't seem natural (though I know proponents explain that argument away). I'll be glad to post some salad dressing recipes later, possibly today. :-)

Aimee, I'm glad this was helpful. This kind of post is really easy for me to put out (sadly most of them are because I shoot too much from the hip when I write them. . .) I do like to talk about food, raw food, and health, though, so I'm pretty motivated to reply! :-) I hope you'll figure out just how you need to eat to thrive (not that I don't think you already are)! :-)Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06469299112021260475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596826491172481628.post-19369213283971553522011-08-02T10:18:45.374-07:002011-08-02T10:18:45.374-07:00This is SO helpful, Susan! I do SO much better when I lightly steam veggies and I have never been a fan of crudites. I never have a problem digesting green smoothies at all or avocodoes, salad greens, etc. Trying to find a vinaigrette that doesn't give me indigestion...I only like vinaigrettes as dressings but they revisit me for hours after that! Will stick to just fruit in the mornings and not combine...good to know.Aimeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09312982290929692281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596826491172481628.post-14922237530219418662011-08-02T06:43:44.639-07:002011-08-02T06:43:44.639-07:00I love your raw food posts, Susan, always! I checked out Natalia Rose's book a couple months ago and was struck by all the do's and don'ts as far as proper combining goes. On the other hand, she also seemed so down to earth and inclusive. But what's up with all that colon cleansing info??? Wow, a lot of emphasis on that in there.

By the way, I often think of you too when having my green juice! And freezing it seems like a great solution for me when I go back to work. I can just take a jar of the frozen juice with me and drink it once thawed. So thank you for giving me that idea!

I'd love it if you posted one or two of your favorite salad dressings . . .Mary Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15147791473133449106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596826491172481628.post-86147615529406439182011-08-02T05:35:56.874-07:002011-08-02T05:35:56.874-07:00Alot of great information here...thanks for taking...Alot of great information here...thanks for taking the time to share.

re #2: I have found that putting a little amount of raw coconut in my green smoothies helps me "chew" my smoothie.Debihttp://www.barefaith.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596826491172481628.post-75798114612213338342011-08-02T00:21:36.109-07:002011-08-02T00:21:36.109-07:00Talk about world time differences... when your pos...Talk about world time differences... when your post showed up you said it was past your bedtime, and for us here downunder its afternoon!

I have a Q- what do you do with the sauerkraut? what do you make with it?Everydaythingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02562558164959015562noreply@blogger.com
