Morning Quiet. . .

This morning the window is open to a robin’s egg sky and cool air wafts gently through the room carrying the sweet song of a hundred birds. Morning light slants across the table, setting delicate pink flowers aglow and illuminating my hand as it writes its way across my journal. This is pure loveliness—a gift from God.

After  two years of living in the middle of the living rooms of various (generous) family members, with no real privacy—no door to shut behind me for quiet—God has given me a pleasant, peaceful space that lends itself easily to gratitude, reading, prayer, and waiting. It’s a gift I don’t ever want to take for granted or squander.

“Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings.” (Psalm 17:8)

“I sing in the shadow of your wings.” (Psalm 63:7)

“But as for me, it is good to be near God.
I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge.” (Psalm 73:28)

I started this post a few days ago and didn't have time to finish it, but today I'm calling it sufficient and putting it up. I'm off now to the hospital while my sister has minor surgery.

Have a lovely day!
